If you are on coumadin(r) or if your life insurance knows you have thrombophilia, you may be denied life insurance. You can shop around, fight the denial, or give up. Group life insurance is easier than an individual policy, as there are less questions to answer.

There is a law that says ten years past an event and you should not be denied health insurance (pre-existing condition). I can only share what I've been through, and I tried purchasing health insurance while on Coumadin 10 years post stroke and was denied. My thrombophilia didn't come into question. It was Coumadin^®. When I explained I was past my ten years, it didn't matter. I was still denied. Perhaps with the new health insurance options coming from the government these types of issues will not exist.
