Information For The Recently Diagnosed

What is my INR/PT?

When you are on anticoagulation therapy (coumadin® usually), the doctor will test your blood often to make sure you are anticoagulated within the range she specifies. The test to check how anticoagulated you are is called a PT or INR test. Both tests check to see how anticoagulated your blood is, but they are performed a little differently. Therefore the ranges of numbers may be different.
