Coumadin® vs. no Coumadin®

This is one of the most debated issues with FVL. Should you be on coumadin® therapy for life or just when you have a clotting episode? I was told by my hemo doc. that one clotting episode you are on coumadin for six months and then taken off. If you have another clotting even it is suggested you take anticoagulants for life.

Here are some alternatives to Coumadin®. Since I'm not a doctor I can't comment on whether any of them or all of them work:
  • Aspirin therapy
  • Herbs-I'm not up on all the available herbal combinations
  • Wine
  • LMHW - there are many forms
  • Nattokinase
  • Other alternative methods
